What is GIFT

GIFT is a privately funded, non-profit organization founded by a group of friends in Kerala in 2006. What began as a modest initiative to collectively contribute a portion of personal income back to society now stands as a fully recognized trust that actively aids 20 students annually.
In 2006, when we looked around as proud engineers with plush jobs, it was heart wrenching to find many others in our own society being denied the same educational opportunities that came easily to us. Since then, the main objective of GIFT has been to aid brilliant students who were unable to pursue further education due to financial limitations.
Over the years, GIFT has ventured out to help the needy with their medical expenses and lately, with flood relief as well.
Every project embarked upon by GIFT is carefully researched and multiple field trips conducted to ensure the aid reaches exactly where it is intended to. All financial support is extended by providing material support, and fees are paid directly to institutions. GIFT has established excellent relationships with schools and higher institutions for identifying needy students, and there has been a steady rise in the number of requests reaching the trust.
Primary Objective: Education for Poor

Secondary Objective: Health Care for Poor

Charity bestowed upon those who are worthy of it is like good seed sown on a good soil that yields an abundance of fruits.  – Buddha

But whoever has the world’s goods, and sees his brother in need and closes his heart against him, how does the love of God abide in him? – Bible

If ye disclose (acts of) charity, even so it is well, but if ye conceal them, and make them reach those (really) in need, that is best for you. – Quran

Charity given to a worthy person simply because it is right to give, without consideration of anything in return, at the proper time and in the proper place, is stated to be in the mode of goodness. – Gita
